Course Methodology:

The implementation of the course will be based on project-based learning perspective in which trainees explore real-case studies and challenges, simultaneously developing pedagogical competences and ICT skills while working in small collaborative groups. The participants of this course will be European teachers and other Educational staff cooperating during the course, so as to gain knowledge and competencies in:

  • Instructional design and new pedagogical approaches,
  • Actual designing eLearning content using Storyboards,
  • Utilizing authoring tools, providing them enhanced ways to bring closer the digital world into classroom.

While completing the activities/ project, they also hone their organizational and research skills and develop better communication with their European peers.

Participants are going to take part in group projects utilizing tools. Workshops and Demonstration activities will enable them to be familiarized with the tools, balancing at the same time the pedagogical orientation with the content’s digitalization. Taking advantage of digital competences and pedagogical knowledge will enable them to construct their own storyboards based on real time scenarios. The evaluation of a number of case studies in addition with numerous brainstorming exercises will evolve their critical thinking on how to create new storyboards and e Learning material engaging students on a new dimension of learning.

The participants of the course are going to be evaluated on presentations to the group audience they have assiduously prepared for, based on scenarios that they will form according to their interests and teaching profiles.

Post Program Activities

Participants will receive a memory stick with a copy of all activities created by the course participants, and the material that has been used during the training. Using a password that will be sent to all participants, and which is valid for a whole year, participants get access to the case studies, existing storyboards, presentations that are going to be used during the course and to the course material. Also, they will have 1 teleconference meeting during the next three months with the main instructor of the course at time that it will be scheduled during the course, so as to have a synchronous conversation and exchange of views based on specific thematic areas.

Participant Comments:

“A thought provoking seminar. Chryso has indeed managed to set in motion reflective processes that will enable teaching practitioners/professionals to embark on a self-reflective journey regarding their practice and the way they see the teaching/learning context shaping in the future.”

“It is an innovative seminar that will definitely help us reflect on our jobs and change so as to improve our schools and our teaching techniques. Thank you for sharing all these experiences with us.”

“I find it great how the students come to understand why they are learning something (e.g. the metric system) and that surely motivates them to study more but more importantly it helps them realise where they should focus in their learning. This realisation reminds me that I should consciously connect knowledge to experience in the classroom.”

About Erasmus+:

ERASMUS+, the new EU programme for Education, Training, Youth, and Sport (2014-2020) has a special focus on teachers’ professional development. During previous years, the Comenius Training grants offered some good opportunities for individual teachers to attend training courses. Now,ERASMUS+, which has replaced the old Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), really multiplies these opportunities. Never before has there been so much EU support for teachers' professional development through mobility in Europe! The difference is that applications are not submitted by individual teachers anymore. They are submitted by schools. Another aspect is that you can re-apply this year even if you have applied and been funded in the past. So, your school needs to apply for you, as well as for any other of your colleagues, including your interest in training on school development and innovation that you will include in the ‘European Development Plan’ section of the application. For up-to-date information about Erasmus+ please check the Programme's website. Your school will need to apply to your country’s National Agency, who is also the one who will evaluate the proposal. Therefore, your National Agency is also a very good point to start for more information. In the Programme Guide, at section “Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals” make sure to read sub-section “Mobility projectfor school education staff”(page 61) or “Mobility project for adult education staff”(page 68).
